Any knife would be good, I am currently thinking about a Butterfly Knife. (This is for camping)
Butterfly knife is crap, and certainly not for camping. Look for a good fixed-blade knife, preferrably something with high-grade steel. I personally use a SOG Seal pup, but that may be a little too expensive for you. A lot of people like the USMC Ka-Bars, and anything like that would do you well.

I have a hunting knife that is over 3′ long and was wondering if I can carry it around as long as I have it out and in the sheath, attatched to my belt. In the Chicago state law it mentions that carrying a hunting knife is not a crime. I just want to walk around with it and with no intent to use it in a unlawful manner. Please answer with straight toward answers.
From my understanding it, carrying it is not illegal. However, you could be charged with other things such as disturbing the peace or making threats.
In any case, carrying a hunting knife in an urban area is a stupid thing to do, legal or not, and it may get you into other types of trouble even if you aren’t prosecuted. Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should.

I bring a knife with me whenever I go camping, but I’m never sure about the legality of my knife. I’ve tried searching the Florida state sites and other sites for knife information, but the only information I’ve found pertains to concealed weapons.
When is it legal for me to carry a regular hunting blade (5" blade, 11" overall) that is NOT concealed? Only while camping or in the woods?
Carrying a hunting knife in a holster is legal for hunting but not legal to carry in schools, city buildings or places that sell alcohol.}{

I might do a little bit of hunting overseas and Id like to take my hunting knife with me, So my question is how do I find out if I can carry a hunting knife with me ( by putting it in my luggage)? A useful link to some travel website would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
In addition to the TSA website which shows that it’s fine to bring a knife in airplane luggage, do a websearch for knife laws in the country you’re traveling to. Many countries have very restrictive laws regarding Knives and knife sizes that you are allowed to carry.
