That is a really good video, iv seen a couple of sharpening videos now, just to Try and understand how to sharpen a blade…. im a blade collector but want to know how to properly sharpen and hone all of my blades.
currently im trying to sharpen my machete, the blade is about 20-22 inchs long and about 3-4 inchs in width.
seeing as im a Novice at sharpening these videos might help alot with the rest of my blades.

@billpeart An often repeated knife myth. Rolling depends on geometry, not polish. Also, you don’t know the properties of the steel, which may be able to take a thinner edge for the same work than other steels. To be fair, I dont know either, so maybe not.

@Pr3dat0r5000 He’s doing a demonstration here promoting his how to sharpen videos. He’s essentially showing what can be done, if you want, with just hand stones and some skill. No one said every knife has to be done this sharp, though I find it works better.

@jfjf1111real if your knife has crappy steel and yes it is possible that the edge will be fragile, but my knives are RAZOR sharp and i chop and baton fire wood every time i hike(which can be several days) and i have no chipped edges or dents in the edge as of yet.
