Me and my friends are taking a road trip from NJ all the way to California. And since I’m paranoid enough to think I need to get protection, I’m thinking of bringing 9mm’s and maybe AK-47 along with hunting Knives and tactical knives. We’re gonna be traveling in a white paneled van if that helps with your answer.
It will vary state to state. While I applaud anyone who will take responsibility for their own safety, I would also say that bringing all that stuff is a bit over the top. If you have a legitimate concealed carry permit it may be recognized by several of the states you are going to cross. However I know that obtaining such a permit in NJ is very difficult.
You would be well advised to follow the laws in each state. If you will avoid doing anything stupid, adopt situational awareness and don’t hang out with the wrong people your likelihood of needing all that firepower is pretty low.

I’m buying from Zwillingonline and I’m wondering what Knives to buy. I’m already buying the starter set of three knives(chef, paring, and carving) from the profection series, but I’d like to add one more knife to widen my variety. Should I add a santoku, or a bread knife, or what? I’ll choose top answer.
What good does a carving knife do besides cutting cooked meat? Should I exchange the carving knife for a bread knife and then add a boning knife?
I agree with the previous answers. I would choose a Santoku over a Chef, but since you have a Chef, go with the bread knife. A good serrated blade is crucial.

I just received a couple of beautiful flatware caddies along with the flatware. I couldn’t wait to put them in the flatware drawer. Now I’m noticing that the knives just won’t stay in. The caddy is stainless steal & opened all around. The Knives seem to be the only thing that fits through the openings & slide out. Does anyone have this problem? If so, how did you remedy it?
Go to Wal-Mart and buy a roll of non slip padding for under a small rug, cut to fit the caddy and then you can lay your knives in it.

I am a soldier coming home from Korea, I have acquired a few knives of various sizes, nothing too ridiculous. I was planning on putting them in one of my checked bags, will customs have a problem with this?
Jst coming back from Afghanistan and i brought back 4 Knives. As long as they are in your checked baggage in a sheath, and not spring loaded your fine. I brought back a 16 in "Rambo" knife. They pulled it out looked at it and put it back in and sent me through the line

I want to start practicing Throwing Knives, but I am not sure what type of knife I should start practicing with.
How about a helpful answer? Seriously.
I use a set of large Gil Hibbon throwing knives. you should get the real deal, not an imitation, it has a good center of balance and are ideal for no-spin throwing. (30$ set of 3) also, i love my flying steel knives, they are made of good, high carbon steel, and each one is hand done, the people who make these knives obviously throw knives themselves because of their shape, simple, smooth, straight, not like the fantasy type sh*t you see all over ebay. these run a little more (40$ each) but if you have NO money at all, *i know this will sound stupid* look around your house for butter knives… yes… butter knives, people always say, "well butter knives arent sharp, they wont stick!" well throwing Knives arent supposed to be sharp, all that matters is the point, if it has a good point, it will stick with the right technique. so, good luck with your knife throwing, dont get stabbed in the foot too much
