This is my Indoor Knife Throwing Setup. I have IKEA curtains which are held up with two large elbow brackets. Behind that, I’ve nailed batting for extra protection. My stand was made from a friend using scraps of metal. I duct tape 1′ blocks of cedar to this stand. The layers of duct tape also ensures that the wood will last longer. My throwing weapons are 4 Plain Butter Knives, 2 Standard Throwing Knives, and 6 Cold Steel 12″ Sure Flight Throwers. I have other throwing weapons (shurikens, throwing spikes, throwing daggers) but this set is more practical in an offensive situation.

A real how-to beginner’s beginning guide to knife throwing using small Gil Hibben Cord Grip Throwing Knives from United Cutlery. Knife throwing has been known in circles of self-defense, martial arts, ninja, samurai, combat, the circus, carnival tricks, and people just sick of their Knives.

This is an instructional video meant to give an idea of what to expect for people thinking or wanting to take up knife throwing. Professional knife throwers would probably be bored to death with this video since this one is for true beginners like myself. I have found that knife throwing is an excellent form of exercise — a definite plus to consider for those thinking about taking up the activity. I would liken the physical consistency goals to be more like bowling or free throws in basketball rather than darts.

BE CAREFUL!!! Wood is a lot tougher than skin so make sure everyone is a safe distance away — at least well behind the thrower. I guess cardboard more closely resembles skin and when I threw into cardboard almost every throw stuck with devastating effect (i.e. the blade penetrates to the hilt)!

Keep in mind that martial arts and self defense techniques and tactics should never be used in offense. It is a lesson preached and practiced by masters ranging from Bruce Lee, the monks of Kung Fu, and modern day fighting and defense instructors in the fields of Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Escrima, and others.

HOW TO PLAY:
Preferably, get teams of 3. The two teams meet at the center of the soccer field on Favela. One team stays on the shadow side, the other stays on the sunny side. If a player cross this line, they are fair game for shooting and knifing. When all the players are at the center of the field, and all crouching, the host of the match will fire their gun twice to signal the game starting. All the players will turn and run to to their wall and “touch” it. From there it plays exactly like dodgeball. Throw your knife at the enemy, dodge their knives, pick up the Knives they’ve thrown and throw them back.

Mode: Search and Destroy
Time Limit: Unlimited
Rounds: 8
Headshots Only: Enabled
Killstreak Rewards: Disabled

Primary & Secondary Weapon – Any, but cannot be used.
Throwing Knife
