Wow, scary talk …
Wow, scary talk from someone who knows nothing about killing. Let’s take practicality into account for a second. How, exactly, are you going to make “100s” of cuts? Are you Superman? A Ninja? No. When trying to kill someone with a knife, you stab, you don’t slash. Unless you have superhuman strength, as a slash isn’t going to do much, despite what you see in movies. And how would you watch it? You’d be an idiot to stick around after killing someone. “Stick & Move” isn’t just for boxing.

you pay attention …
you pay attention to the balance of the knife not the distance all distance really does is determine the power you must use if you really know how to throw a knife you can stick the same knife in from 10 feet 5 feet or 20 feet as long as you have the balanceing point

lol I’m doing my …
lol I’m doing my best to see it from that perspective. But I agree with the quite part, also when you pull out a knife nobody runs and screams so it a lot more subtle and probably save you a lot of time to disappear. On top of that it would be crazy bad to whip a knife into someones forehead! lol

guns are too loud a …
guns are too loud a knife is quite and more of an art form. their is nothing like seeing the skin on a person split when a knife slowly cuts into them letting the blood leak out all over. its alot more fun to see them bleed out from 100s of cuts than a bullet hole

Throwing a knife is …
Throwing a knife is less predictable, knives are almost everywhere, anyone can pull a trigger and throwing knives is fun. Until you throw them, you really don’t know what its like. Plus you get less of a fine carrying an unlicensed knife then you do for an unlicensed gun.

these vids are …
these vids are awsome and helpfull, but it would be nice if there was another one that went into detail about the spinning of the knives. Does it matter if it spins 1 and a half or two? does it depend on the knife? sounds like a topic that would be useful to know.

The last knife u threw would be a lot more effective throwing it from the handle if the blade is considerable heavier than the hilt

Very cool info though, I didn’t know that bone was so weak. I guess it is hollow so maybe that adds to the weakness of it?

as nasty as it is …
as nasty as it is to talk about this kind of thing, i believe i can shed a little light on your estimation as to the strength of bone.
Japanese sword masters use tight bundles of straw to simulate limbs and torsos when testing their swords’ cutting power.
the wood you’re using is much harder and rigid against impact than bone. you could expect a knife of decent weight to penetrate nearly to the handle if thrown with force. remember, it’s penetrating with a very sharp point along a flat plane.

The gil hibben …
The gil hibben knives I think are really good, in fact too good for a beginner. I got a set of them when I was first starting out and not sticking the knives in the target consistently and my knives got thrashed. I think you should try and get the cheapest knives as possible when you start out because they are going to get messed up, then get something like the Hibben that cost more.
Yes heavy knives can be used closer ranger, but you might want to switch to a ‘no spin’ throw.

shaykai.
I’m very interested in the art of throwing knives, I saw some large Gil hibbens style knives in a camping store and I’m considering getting them to start.
Are they good for beginners? and can heavy knives be used for close range targets?
